In Rotem, a small hamlet just 7 km from
Maaseik, Daniela Croci and her husband Koen Reynders have created an
idyllic refuge for holidaymakers. A beautiful white villa has been
thoroughly renovated to create a hotel that offers that little bit more.
The
hotel lies just minutes away from the Meuse, three cycle paths and three
kilometres from the 164 kilometres of signposted walks in the National
Park, 6 km from Maaseik and 5 km from the retail village of Maasmechelen
Village. If you take the connecting road between Lanaken and Maaseik, on
which you will find this hotel, you will not believe the tranquillity
and peace you will find there. By maintaining the characteristic
elements of this beautiful white villa built in 1962, this property has
kept its homely character. Because it is a small hotel it has a lovely
family feel where guests and owners both feel at home. You can enjoy the
gastronomic delights of Daniela’s fish cuisine or have your personal
horoscope drawn up by Koen. They welcome you like friends and offer you,
in harmony with your personal feng shui horoscope, your wood, fire,
earth, metal or water room so that you spend a totally relaxed stay in
harmony with the elements.
Food & beverage The restaurant is
tastefully designed using modern materials that contrast beautifully
with the structural elements from the sixties. The sliding windows of
the restaurant look out over a 50-acre garden with views over meadows
and the old hedge of laurel and mountain ash that are a favourite spot
for birds from the nearby castle grounds. In the morning a full
breakfast awaits you and in the evening, Daniela conjures up three or
five course dinners in the open kitchen. In a previous life Koen and
Daniela had a fish business/restaurant in Genk. The cuisine is strongly
influenced by the sea as well as Daniela’s Italian roots. Ultra fresh
fish and seafood are enhanced with the typical flavours of central
Italian cuisine.
