HOTELS in GENT (Ghent)

 (back to Hotels Gent Homepage)

No impressive entrance and no red carpet. The simple front of the "Oude Houtlei" reveals no signs of the old, modest convent : PoortAckere. "An island, lost in the whirlpool of a tumultuous city".

Once you have passed the gates, you enter an intimate nunnery, of which the history goes back to the year 1278. What has been a hidden cloister for centuries, is now revealing its secrets. The atmosphere is charming, which fits in the simplicity of a Neo-Gothic building. PoortAckere is shining as it used to, a nunnery with its own story....

Impeccable rooms with bathroom (shower and/or bath), television, telephone and internet.

Intimate dinners among Neo-Gothic arches

Inspiring meetings in a historical setting
