GRAND HOTEL DU SABLON ***

This page is expired

Around 400 years ago, at the back of this 16th century building, a hotel was set up in an inn that was called "'t Schomynckel", which literally means "Beautiful Place".
Later, the contiguous houses, dating also from the 16th century, were transformed in Neo-Renaissance style and integrated within the hotel compound.

The porch ( the current entrance), gave access to a patio with a well and stables. In 1908, that patio was covered with a colorful, unique stained glass dome in late Art Nouveau style.

Mainly after the second World War, modernization and restoration works have been executed by the family Marécaux, the last one started in 1993, so the hotel added, as far as comfort is concerned, a real modern dimension to its traditions.
Yesterday the hotel was a meeting place for the Bruges Beau Monde, now  it is a banqueting hall for the Bruges Society meetings, celebrations, weddings and dinners.

All through the year, the GRAND HOTEL DU SABLON offers you 36 spacious rooms with bathroom, toilet, color television, and direct dial telephone.

In the morning, a breakfast buffet awaits you and the bar is at your disposal 24 hours long.

Underground parking spaces are available only 50 yards away.
