Inside the
Church of the Beguinage in Brussels. One of the many
tombstones of the beguines that were buried here in the
17th and 18th century. The transcription of the
old-Dutch text on this stone reads : " Here lies
buried miss Joanna Urselinkx, beguine, headmistress in
her time. Died on the first of August 1690. Here lies
buried miss Anna De Maelder, beguine, honoured, died on
May 1st 1709".
