Next to the
tomb of Mary of Burgundy in the Our Lady's Church of
Bruges, stands the tomb of her father, Duke Charles the
Bold of Burgundy (1458-1463), who died in the battle of
Nancy on 5 January 1477. His (supposed) body was brought
to Bruges in 1553 by order of Emperor Charles V.
